F1: Australian Grand Prix expected to have crowd of 450,000 people

Australian Grand Prix is happening in less than a month’s time and CEO Andrew Westacott says there used to be about 300,000 people at the Australian Grand Prix event across four days.

But that number has risen substantially now.

“Last year we had just over 419,000 and this year, based on current ticket sales we’re going to be 128 to 130,000 on the Sunday and Saturday,” Mr Westacott told Sky News Australia.

“You’re starting to nudge 440 – 450,000 across the four days.

“It’s a bit like a pit stop in a Formula One car, you know you’ve got to get it all right on the day.”
