Automotive: Inaugural Côte De California Exotic Car Rally From Los Angeles To Monterey

Motul, the world-class oil and lubricants company founded in 1853, announces the first annual Motul Côte De California, an immersive road rally winding from the canyons of the Los Angeles basin to the scenic Monterey Peninsula. The rally coincides with the fourth round of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, the Motul Course de Monterey Presented by Hyundai N, which marks the debut of IMSA’s new Grand Touring Prototype (GTP) class for the famed track. Held from May 12-14, 2023, the rally will host a limited number of automotive and motorsports enthusiasts to join the premium experience.

Navigating the stunning coast of California, the weekend rally features a series of curated drives and unique hospitality experiences. Day one highlights include lunch in Malibu followed by a spirited drive to Paso Robles and an evening at the Allegretto Vineyard Resort paired with a culinary experience at Tooth & Nail Wine Company. Second-day activities include a scenic drive along the coast before arriving at the Hyatt Regency Hotel & Spa in Monterey, followed by dinner in the stunning observatory room of The Sardine Factory.

The rally will culminate on Sunday with an unparalleled experience at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. The circuit’s Lakebed Lounge will entertain as Motul’s primary hospitality suite with a stunning view of the on-track action as well as special paddock access for an all-encompassing motorsports experience. A special Mother’s Day packages from Spa Adeline at the Hyatt Regency Hotel & Spa will be available for those who prefer to recharge on Sunday morning, before heading to the track.

“The Côte De California rally presents an exciting opportunity for car enthusiasts to connect with one another and also the historic Motul brand on some of the best roads and beautiful settings on the West Coast,” said Motul USA Marketing Manager Nolan Browning. “The sublime drives, luxury experiences and unique access to Motul’s Course de Monterey will make for a storied experience, curated with the help of our motorsport partners.”

Featured partners for Motul Côte De California include BRABUS USA, Gunther Werks, IMSA, Hyundai, and Michelin. The rally will also host special guests and Motul ambassadors, including “Gran Turismo” actress and record-breaking car builder Emelia Hartford, as well as hosts from Throtl and more.

Celebrating 170 years as a company in 2023, Motul has been a champion of innovation in the motor oil and lubricant industry. Debuting Motul Côte De California expands its role as an industry pioneer and shares its legacy with both established and new enthusiasts in a time of renewed interest in motorsports.
