Video: Ford’s F1 comeback with Red Bull and how it will work

Ford is coming BACK to F1 after striking a deal to partner Red Bull for the new era of engine rules.

After discussions with Porsche and Honda, Red Bull has announced a collaboration that will mean Red Bull Racing and AlphaTauri use Ford-branded engines from 2026 until at least 2030.

The Red Bull Ford partnership will be based out of the new Red Bull Powertrains facility that has been built up over the last two years but Ford has claimed it will have a big role in the hybrid part of the engines in particular.

After an absence of nearly two decades, Ford’s return is a big deal for F1 and the new rules. So why now for Ford, how will it work, and will this project add to the success or failure of Ford’s sketchy F1 history?
