F1: New FIA Race Director left Magnussen stranded out on course
How many mistakes are FIA President Mohammed ben Sulayem’s new Race Directors going to make before they get fired?
As you may have seen on TV, Kevin Magnussen was left stranded at the lap 1 crash scene in Interlagos after Daniel Ricciardo – the man penalized for causing the crash – was given a ride back in the medical car, and the Race Director did not send it back around to pick Magnussen up.
Magnussen eventually gave up on waiting and attempted to get back to the paddock on foot.
Apparently, someone cut a hole in a fence to help him out and then he found himself walking through a public area surrounded by fans as he tried to make it to the pits.
This is from the sector I was and it happened AFTER the race finished. Quite an adventure, indeed. pic.twitter.com/AP3Vd7LnQf

It harkens back to stories of drivers getting lost in the old forests at Hockenheim when they had retired, stricken on the far side of the circuit, but this is 2022!
