F1: Red Bull and Aston Martin ABA’s to be revealed Friday
Word in the Mexico City Paddock on Thursday is that the Red Bull Racing and Aston Martin Formula 1 teams have concluded Cost Cap negotiations with the FIA and the outcome is expected to be made public on Friday.
The team has reached an Accepted Breach Agreement, which in essence confirms that it acknowledges any wrongdoing and accepts any sanctions.
According to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, an ‘Accepted Breach Agreement’ has finally been concluded between Red Bull and F1’s governing body and will be made public ahead of this weekend’s Mexico City Grand Prix.
De Telegraaf reports that Red Bull will be hit with a fine and a reduction in aero testing “lower than 25 percent” heading into F1 2023.
The FIA will explain the areas that are in dispute for both teams as well as the penalties.
We expect to hear that any overspend Red Bull had were non-performance related.
In the Saturday morning press conference At COTA, Horner said that it’s spare parts accounting “had a seven-digit effect on our submission.”
“What you have to remember is that the submission can constitute about 75,000 line items,” said Horner.
“So, there’s an enormous amount of data that has to be inputted into these submissions and I think it’s only natural that, in a first year we have a set of very complicated regulations, to be able to get its arms around everything, is almost impossible. Almost impossible.
”And interpretations have been made, [that] maybe by other teams have been slightly different, and then a change like that has a huge swing in your application of how you’ve completed your form which, had we been able to resubmit at that point in time, we would have treated very, very differently.”
Red Bull have called a press conference at 11.30am local time in Mexico to address the matter.
