F1: De Vries replaces Hamilton in FP1 for French GP

Mercedes Formula 1 reserve driver Nyck de Vries will replace Lewis Hamilton in this coming Friday’s first free practice session for the French GP.

The 2022 sporting regulations require each team to run rookie drivers in two FP1 sessions during the season.

Toto Wolff said: “Nyck is replacing Lewis in first practice this weekend, as part of the allocated sessions for young drivers this year.

“So, we’re looking forward to seeing how he gets on.”
