IndyCar: Carb Day Report from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway *** Weather Update ***
The rain has stopped falling. The safety trucks are still circling the track. But we do have race cars coming out into pit lane now.
No official announcement has been made about what time practice will start. But things are improving.
***** Good morning from Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Miller Lite Carb Day 2022. I think it might get wet today with rain in the forecast for most of today. The final NTT INDYCAR Series practice for the Indy 500 is scheduled for 11 am local time and Ruoff Mortgage Pit Stop Challenge is scheduled for 2:30 pm.
There has been no official word on any changes yet but AR1 heard yesterday from Doug Boles, President of IMS, that the practice session was the number one thing to schedule around wet weather if we have any this morning.
The picture above is not actually what the track looks like currently but a team of Tundra track dryers are out on the front stretch and pit lane as I write this. The sun is peeking out between the dark clouds right now. AR1 will update you as the day progresses.
Check back for weather updates and how the drivers are looking at Sunday’s race.
