Darrell Waltrip, Liz Allison among people helping Nashville Superspeedway return to racing

Erik Moses is shifting into a higher gear and receiving help from a group of well-known local advisers as he prepares Nashville Superspeedway for its first NASCAR Cup Series race.

It’s not an official group and none of the individuals are being compensated for their assistance.

But it is a group with a wealth of experience and wisdom in the sport and it continues to grow as Moses, who was named president of Nashville Superspeedway in August, comes across knowledgeable people willing and eager to help make the first race scheduled for June 18-20 a success.

So far the group includes NASCAR Hall of Fame driver Darrell Waltrip, NASCAR analyst Liz Allison, wife of the late Davey Allison who also is in the NASCAR Hall of Fame, former executive vice president of Dale Earnhardt Inc. Ty Norris, and Nashville recording industry mogul Scott Borchetta, who is heavily involved in several types of racing and was recently inducted into the Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway Hall of Fame.
