Verstappen crashes in opening Monza practice

Max Verstappen (above) crashed his Red Bull Honda in opening practice for the Italian GP at Monza Friday morning.

Replays show he lost control of the exit of the first part of the chicane, bouncing across the gravel at speed and connecting with the barriers. zzzz

The session has been red flagged while the marshals go and recover that Red Bull wing from the gravel, and double-check the barriers as further replays show that Verstappen bounced over the curbs after losing the rear, which could have damaged his floor.

Verstappen did limp back to the pits on his own and was later back out and running fast laps.
