Roger Penske Letter to Indy fans
Ahead of the Indianapolis 500 Sunday, Roger Penske, Indianapolis Motor Speedway and IndyCar owner, sent out a heartfelt letter to race fans on Thursday morning.
The Indy 500 was rescheduled from its original date of Sunday, May 24 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As weeks and months went by and the coronavirus persisted, IMS officials decided to run the race with no fans on Sunday, August 23.
In his letter to fans, Penske spoke of his family’s commitment to IMS, how much he and the drivers will miss “the roar of the crowd,” and what it will mean to hopefully have fans back at the track in 2021.
