Nuclear Clean Energy sponsors Newman Wachs and De Silvestro
The #34 car will be driven by Simona De Silvestro, one of Switzerland’s top young racers and the newly enlisted driver to the team. She made history by becoming the first woman to ever earn a podium result at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in 2006 at the US Grand Prix. This is her second season with the Atlantic Championship Series.
NWR’s #34 car is dedicated to the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI)'s current campaign statement. The objective is to ensure formation of public policy to promote the beneficial uses of nuclear energy. NEI will encourage a collection of public and private organizations united under the promotion of the technological advancement of nuclear power to aid in additional support.
Along with the promotional message to educate the public in all possible aspects of this energy resource, comes the use of the motorsports arena to transmit a positive message to aid recruiting efforts to college and university students on becoming the nuclear science engineers of tomorrow.
For years, Paul Newman and Eddie Wachs have supported and encouraged the structure and development of nuclear energy. Entergy, who in 2007, was named to Forbes list of America's Most Trustworthy Companies, is one of the first member companies to join the collaborative effort with NWR and the NEI.
The goal of the Newman Wachs Racing team, as well as its parent sponsors, is to educate and promote the clean, safe use of nuclear power in the US and abroad. NWR, shares the vision and dedication to success that embodies the "NUCLEAR CLEAN AIR ENERGY" collective.
