Continuing rain showers Sunday at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway forced the cancellation of second-day qualifying for the 92nd running of the Indianapolis 500. It's the second time in the last three years that rain has interrupted qualifying at Indianapolis, as the entire first weekend of qualifying attempts was washed out in 2006.
Practice at the Speedway will resume on Wednesday, May 14, and run through Friday. Saturday, May 17 and Sunday will be the final two days of qualifying to set the 33-car starting field, with 11 more grid positions and "bumping" from the field expected to take place each day.
