Rain washes out Martinsville qualifying

Rain washed out all of Friday's on-track activity at Martinsville Speedway

NASCAR has officially canceled all on-track activities at Martinsville Speedway today because of rain.

The field for the Cup race will be set on owners points, which puts Hendrick Motorsports' Jimmie Johnson on the pole. Richard Childress Racing's Jeff Burton starts on the outside, followed by Roush Fenway Racing's Greg Biffle, Roush Fenway's Carl Edwards and Richard Childress Racing's Clint Bowyer. Phoenix Racing's Sterling Marlin and Derrike Cope, in the Rich Markle-owned No. 75, failed to make the race.
