Montoya to Furniture Row Racing

UPDATE Furniture Row Racing has not decided on its driver for 2014 but is continuing discussions with Juan Pablo Montoya, who visited the shop earlier this week. Montoya and Furniture Row Racing General Manager Joe Garone confirmed the Wednesday visit at the team's Denver shop. "We're down to a couple of guys," Garone said Friday at Richmond International Raceway.

"It's just a process. Part of it is you just identify where you want to go – do you want to stay with a veteran or do you want to go with a younger rookie and bring a kid up? We're just trying to get through that decision. You've got to take Juan seriously. He's been around a while and obviously can win races."

Reportedly considering a return to open-wheel racing or possibly another form of sports-car or road racing, Montoya declined to elaborate on what other teams he is considering. Garone said he expects the crew to remain, including crew chief Todd Berrier. Sporting News
