MESCO to sponsor new Rolex Rookie of the Year program

MONTEREY, Calif. – For the first time in Grand American Rolex Sports Car Series presented by Crown Royal Special Reserve history, 2006 newcomers to Daytona Prototype and GT competition will compete for a $10,000 prize and the distinction of being the “MESCO Building for the Future Rookie of the Year."

Officials from the Grand American Road Racing Association and the Texas-based MESCO Building Solutions announced today at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca that the two companies have joined forces to create the first “Rookie of the Year" Award for competitors in the Rolex Series. The MESCO Building for the Future Rookie of the Year will be awarded for the first time at the end of the 2006 Rolex Series season, with a $10,000 prize going to the Daytona Prototype or GT rookie that earns the most points.
