Ethanol announces ALMS involvement

Rahal Letterman Racing (RLR) and the Ethanol Promotion and Information Council (EPIC) announced today an expansion of the Team Ethanol program to include RLR’s new American Le Mans Series Porsche GT2 program. The announcement was made in conjunction with the ALMS announcement that Ethanol enhanced fuel (E10) would become one of the official fuel selections of the series. Ethanol is already the official fuel of the IndyCar Series and is the primary partner of the No. 17 Rahal Letterman Team Ethanol entry driven by Jeff Simmons.

In expanding the promotional program Ethanol will be an associate RLR partner for the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring and the Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta and will have the familiar Ethanol logo on the No. 18 Rahal Letterman Racing Bell Microproducts/Porsche. RLR will make its ALMS debut at Sebring March 17.

“We value our relationship with the Ethanol industry and the people at EPIC," said Bobby Rahal. “When they informed us they were looking at expanding the racing fuel program to include the American Le Mans Series it was a natural progression for us to expand our own Ethanol program to include our new ALMS effort. Through the Team Ethanol program the Ethanol industry continues to dispel myths about its product and to emphasize the performance and environmental benefits of a renewable fuel product, and RLR is proud to be involved in helping demonstrate and spread that message."

“The Ethanol industry is excited to continue to build on our world class relationship with the Rahal Letterman Racing team," said Tom Slunecka, Executive Director, Ethanol Promotion and Information Council (EPIC). “In expanding our partnership with one of the most successful teams in racing today, we are confident that Rahal Letterman will continue to exemplify Ethanol’s performance in yet another major racing league."
