Hulkenberg to step down

In order to get ready for the Euro F3 season with the top ASM team, Nico Hulkenberg will step down as Team Germany's lead driver after the next A1GP round in Durban, reports this week's Autosport magazine. Hülkenberg’s place will be taken by Formula BMW world champion Christian Vietoris, who has driven in most of the rookie sessions during this season. The 17-year-old said: "It will be a big challenge for me. The car is a lot of fun but now I need to train more to build my arms and neck up for the race."

[Editor's Note: The reason why the A1GP series will never have a strong following is due to the fact the teams are changing drivers all the time. The athletes are what the fans come to see, and when there is a constant turnover of your stars, the fans follow them elsewhere. Champ Car is afflicted with this same disease, though to a slightly lesser extent.]
