Rocketsports Racing Houston Testing News
After taking delivery of a second Panoz Champ Car over a week ago, the Rocketsports crew worked diligently to ensure that it would be ready to run for this next test. The plan is to have Tagliani run the new car for a brief shakedown and then continue working on the car from Sebring.
“I am very excited to get back into the Rocketsports Champ Car this week," said Tagliani. “The Sebring test was for shaking the new Panoz DP01 Champ Car down and we did not get in as many miles as we were hoping to. But this test will give us the opportunity to prepare the car so that it is ready to go racing this season. The guys were able to learn a lot about the new Champ Car during the first test in Sebring; now we can move forward working with what we have learned as a continuation for progress in the pre-season. Also, I was able to get comfortable with the #8 Rocketsports Cosworth/Panoz/Bridgestone and I feel that I will be able to help in this process behind the wheel even more during our second run together.
“I have to say that it was great to get back to Rocketsports, seeing familiar faces and reconnecting with people I have worked with in the past was so nice. Having a connection between the driver and the team is one of the keys to having success for both, and we have that. Now we have the chance to really work together to get the Rocketsports car back on the road for success in 2007."
The second-of-three Champ Car Open Tests will be held at the Mercedes Benz of Sugar Land Road Course on February 12-13. The 2007 Champ Car World Series season kicks off April 8 in downtown Las Vegas, Nevada, the first of a full 17-race schedule running from April to December. Rocketsports Racing PR
