Jordan appointed Rally Ireland chairman

(GMM) Former F1 team owner Eddie Jordan has returned to the world of motor racing.

The Dublin-born 58-year-old, who at the end of 2004 sold his Silverstone based grand prix team to Midland, has been appointed chairman of Ireland's round of the World Rally Championship.

Rally Ireland will be held in November.

"This is a huge sporting opportunity for Ireland," Jordan said. "We have a wealth of talent in motorsport, both as competitors and organizers, and being part of WRC will allow us to develop that talent for the future."
