Champ Car ramps up video distribution

MONTEREY, Calif. – Champ Car, the sanctioning body of the Champ Car World Series, an international open-wheel car racing championship based largely in North America, will team with The NewsMarket (www.thenewsmarket.com), the media’s online source for video, for digital delivery of Champ Car’s video assets to broadcast news and online media outlets worldwide.

"Champ Car is constantly striving to aid the media in its coverage of Champ Car and this partnership with The NewsMarket is a key component of our strategy," said Champ Car President Steve Johnson. "The ability to send the latest in video and audio from Champ Car directly into the newsrooms of the world and provide it on-demand at no charge to the news media will help raise exposure for our drivers, events and commercial partners."

Starting today, The NewsMarket will have Champ Car news footage, personality interviews, locations footage and much more available for use in online news or broadcast media stories. Interested media affiliates can go to www.thenewsmarket.com/champcars to preview and download video at no charge for use in online or broadcast media.

Champ Car is working with The NewsMarket to drive awareness among racing and auto-related news sites and programs, and help the organization gain traction in its regional and national markets. Champ Car’s first race on the 2007 calendar will be the Vegas Grand Prix on April 8, 2007 in Las Vegas. The first video material from Champ Car to be made available to The NewsMarket’s 10,500 media outlets worldwide will be culled from the series’ Spring Training test sessions at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca and will include team, series and sponsor announcements as well as on-track footage of the new DP01 Champ Car.

“The NewsMarket already offers journalists the largest online archive of broadcast-standard automotive video," said Shoba Purushothaman, CEO and co-founder of The NewsMarket. “So it’s exciting for us to be able to deliver the high-speed thrills of Champ Car racing video footage as well."
