Demi, Ashton and others attend Newman charity event

PALO ALTO, Calif. — After his race team completed their final test prior to the Champ Car World Series (CCWS) season-opener in Las Vegas April 6-8 at the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca on Saturday, Newman/Haas/Lanigan Racing (NHLR) co-owner Paul Newman headed to Palo Alto for an event to raise support and awareness for another of his passions — The Association of Hole in the Wall Camps (AHITWC). Actors Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher were among the notable guests that evening.

Silicon Valley entrepreneur and venture capitalist Cliff Higgerson and his wife Judy hosted the benefit for Newman's Camps at their home in Palo Alto. During the evening Newman and Camp associate Robert Forrester gave a presentation on AHITWC. They were followed by Champ Car Co-Owner Kevin Kalkhoven, a board member of AHITWC, who spoke about the Camps and the CCWS. The group included powerful CEOs and Silicon Valley executives as well as some big names from Hollywood. In addition to Moore and Kutcher, other notables included Charlie Ebersol and girlfriend Danielle Panabaker, an actress on CBS’s TV series “Shark" with James Woods. She also appeared in “Empire Falls" with Newman.

Both Demi Moore and Aston Kutcher hope to attend the upcoming Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach as guests of NHLR along with a number of other celebrity guests.
