Papis to chat with Watkins Glen fans

Other than exciting racing, there is only one thing that race fans cannot get enough of; access to their favorite drivers. Watkins Glen International will provide that coveted opportunity by giving fans the chance to chat LIVE on the WGI Fan Talk Forum each week with a driver from the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series leading up to the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen, June 8-10. Star driver Max Papis will be the featured guest for the first live chat on Wednesday, May 9th, at 7:30 PM.

The live chats are open to all race fans that are registered on the WGI Fan Talk Forum. Not registered yet? Simply log-on to the WGI homepage (www.TheGlen.com), fill out the registration form and you are ready to post!

The 30-minute live chats will be held every Wednesday at 7:30 PM beginning this week and leading up to the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen weekend. Every live chat will feature a different driver from the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series and fans can expect an announcement on the participating driver several days prior to the weekly chat.

Max Papis is recognized as one of the most versatile drivers in the world and is certainly one of the top drivers on the Grand-Am Rolex Series. His best showing at The Glen came in 2004 when he teamed with Scott Pruett to win the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen. Papis returned later that season to claim 5th place in the Sahlen’s 200 on his way to sharing the 2004 Daytona Prototype championship with Pruett. Papis made his most recent appearance last year during the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup at The Glen weekend when he raced in the NASCAR Busch Series Zippo 200, finishing finished 14th. He recently tested with Hendrick Motorsports to help them prepare their Car of Tomorrow road course program and is hoping to race in the 91st Indianapolis 500. Papis is currently the co-driver of the No. 75 Krohn Racing Ford Riley with young driving sensation Colin Braun. Fans can expect to see Papis in the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen, June 8-10, and during the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series race during the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series at The Glen weekend, August 9-12.
