Homestead-Miami Speedway staff changes

Homestead-Miami Speedway recently re-modeled its Corporate Partnerships team and facility growth initiatives with former Director of Corporate Partnerships Jim D'Arecca becoming the new Director of Consumer Sales, and Sherry Adams joining the staff as the Director of Corporate Partnerships.

"We are excited to welcome Sherry to our staff and introduce Jim in his new position," said Homestead-Miami Speedway President Curtis Gray. "Each brings a wealth of knowledge, expertise and enthusiasm to their position and will play a key role in creating and facilitating new opportunities at Homestead-Miami Speedway for our sponsors and guests."

As the Speedway's first Director of Consumer Sales, D'Arecca will serve in an important new role created to accommodate the growing number of requests for rental of the Homestead-Miami Speedway track and facility, including the luxurious Champions Club. He will also specialize in coordinating group ticket packages for XM SpeedJam™ and Ford Championship Weekend.

A New Jersey native, D'Arecca holds a Master's Degree in Sport Administration, and previously worked in Group Ticket Sales from 2001 to 2003 at Homestead-Miami Speedway, before leaving to work in Group Sales and Corporate Partnerships for the Florida International University Athletic Department. He returned to Homestead-Miami Speedway in 2006 to become the Director of Corporate Partnerships, but became the top candidate for the Director of Consumer Sales position when the position was recently created.

"Group sales and track rental are extremely important to our growing business at the Speedway and I am excited to develop ways to increase that revenue," said D'Arecca. "This is an opportunity to bring new businesses and fans out to experience our facility throughout the year and gives us the chance to show them a great time."

Adams will oversee all corporate hospitality and sponsorship sales for the Ford Championship Weekend, NASCAR season finale in November, the XM SpeedJam™, IndyCar® Series season opener in March, as well as sponsorship for the facility itself, which is utilized over 260 days each year.

Prior to joining Homestead-Miami Speedway, Adams served as the founder and President of The Sports Source, a Texas-based sales, marketing and consulting firm, with clients including the NFL, CFL, and Fox Sports Net. She also served as Sales Director for the Super Bowl XXXVIII Host Committee in Houston.

"I am thrilled to be part of the Homestead-Miami Speedway team," said Adams. "I look forward to working with new and current sponsors to utilize the unique opportunities that our facility and events provide."

All three NASCAR Series, the Craftsman Truck, Busch, and NEXTEL Cup will crown champions under the lights during Ford Championship Weekend. The Ford 200 is scheduled for Friday, November 16, the Ford 300 will take place Saturday, November 17, and the Chase for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup will culminate with the Ford 400 on Sunday, November 18. Each day will also feature concerts, interactive exhibits, and other exciting action, included in the price of your admission ticket. Don't miss out!
