Duhamel to participate in Canadian NASCAR race

Montreal, Canada – Miguel Duhamel, the legendary Honda motorcycle racer, winningest AMA road racer and 5-time Daytona 200 Superbike champion, will make his debut on four wheels by competing in the NASCAR C.T.S. that will be held on the weekend of June 16 and 17, at the wheel of the #8 – Bitumar – Jacombs Racing entry on the 2.5 mile, 10 turn Mosport track.

Only a week after having tested at Mosport with the Jacombs Racing team, Miguel Duhamel feels ready to take on this new challenge. “ I loved it despite the limited number of laps I did. We did not have the proper set-up and gear ratios for the track last Thursday, but I feel really comfortable in the car. However, I have no illusions about the race but I am definitely planning to enjoy every minute of it. As much experience as I have on race tracks, I am very pleased to be part of such a professional team as Jacombs Racing for this new and exciting challenge."

Miguel relishes the idea of racing on four wheels on a track where he raced on two wheels. Miguel has raced at Mosport in World Superbike and is really looking forward to this weekend in Canada.

It goes without saying that Jacombs Racing team owner Dave Jacombs welcomes Miguel’s presence at Mosport with open arms. “We are delighted to have someone of Miguel’s racing experience in our car. His test at Mosport last Thursday proved to us that he is truly a racer at heart regardless if it is on 2 wheels or 4 wheels."
