Atlantic races on ESPN360

ESPN and Champ Car Atlantic announced today that ESPN's premiere broadband service, ESPN360.com, will deliver live online coverage of the remainder of the Cooper Tires Presents The Champ Car Atlantic Championship Powered By Mazda schedule.  Coverage will begin with the Grand Prix of Cleveland presented by LaSalle Bank this Sunday.  ESPN360.com will provide live, flag-to-flag coverage of all remaining events on the 2007 Champ Car Atlantic calendar.

ESPN360.com’s coverage compliments television coverage that already features tape-delayed Champ Car Atlantic Championship events on ESPN2.  The network will continue to offer 30-minute, tape-delayed television coverage of the remaining events as well.

ESPN360.com is a free broadband service for fans that get high-speed internet access from an ESPN-affiliated provider. Delivering hundreds of live events, analysis and exclusive on-demand content, ESPN360.com features more than 100 events in June alone and has featured live coverage of events including UEFA, FIFA World Cup and MLS soccer matches, college basketball, football and lacrosse games, Arena Football League games, boxing matches and more.

“We are obviously elated to be able to add live online coverage of Champ Car Atlantic via ESPN360.com," said Champ Car Atlantic Managing Director Vicki O’Connor. "ESPN has developed a premiere broadband service with ESPN360.com, and it has become another viable option for live sports coverage that may have seemed unthinkable a few years ago. Of course, we will also continue to offer the traditional television broadcasts on tape delay through ESPN2, but this opportunity for live coverage will undoubtedly bring additional value to all of our sponsors, teams and drivers in the Champ Car Atlantic Championship."

“We are very pleased to add Champ Car Atlantic to the fast-growing stable of live online programming offered by ESPN360.com," said John Zehr, senior vice president, ESPN Digital Media Production.  “Live sports coverage from around the world is a cornerstone of ESPN360.com, and will continue to deliver a destination for fans looking for live, broadband sports coverage."

The Champ Car Atlantic Championship returns to action this weekend with Round 6 of the 12-race series, the Grand Prix of Cleveland Presented by LaSalle Bank. Brazilian Raphael Matos leads the series championship by 17 points, 140-123, over his Sierra Sierra Enterprises teammate, James Hinchcliffe.
