F3 Masters moves from Zandvoort to Zolder
Carlin Motorsport will take its current British F3 driver line-up to the Zandvoort Masters of F3 at Zolder next weekend. Maro Engel, Sam Bird, Niall Breen, Alberto Valerio and Mario Moraes will all compete in the European F3 head-to-head. The Carlin quintet has accumulated 16 podium positions in British F3 so far this season, including four race wins. The F3 Masters leaves its regular home of Zandvoort Circuit Park for one year, after the Dutch circuit was forced to move the event due to noise restrictions. The event instead moves to Belgium, meaning the team will spend two consecutive weekends racing in the country. The F3 Masters sees the major F3 championships from across Europe, including British F3 and the F3 Euroseries fight it out in one of the highlights of the F3 calendar. The F3 Euroseries cars are widely thought to have an advantage, running as they do on Kumho tires, the control tire for the F3 Masters. As part of its development program for the event, the Carlin team have recently tested on Kumho tires similar to those used at the Masters.
