GAINSCO Drivers Receive International Recognition

It’s been a sensational season for the GAINSCO/Bob Stallings Racing Team and the International press is taking notice. With seven victories and 11 pole positions, American duo Alex Gurney and Jon Fogarty are currently rated the best sports car drivers in the world. For the fifth time this season Gurney and Fogarty were ranked on the National Speed Sport News’ power ranking, listing the world’s top-ten drivers in motorsports. Previously, Gurney and Fogarty debuted on the list as the seventh best drivers. This week, they were ranked fifth, just behind Formula One’s sensational new-comer and FIA championship leader, McLaren driver, Lewis Hamilton.

Gurney and Fogarty have taken the sports car scene by storm this year, setting records for the most poles as well as the most victories in a single season. They lead the Rolex Grand American Championship, with just one round to go. The final round of the 2007 season is the 1000k Sunchaser Challenge at Miller Motorsports Park in Salt Lake City, Utah on September 15th. Catch the action live on SPEED beginning at 1:00 pm et.
