Antinucci to debut with Cheever in Grand-Am

Indy Pro Series race winner Richard Antinucci will make his sports-car debut at the Grand-Am finale at Miller Motorsports Park, driving for his uncle Eddie Cheever's team.

Antinucci, who has won twice during a road-course IPS program with Cheever Racing, will drive the team's Fabcar-Porsche FDSC/03 in Utah. He will share the car with team regulars Christian Fittipaldi and Harrison Brix.

"Richard has done an excellent job in IPS, so we thought we would give him a chance," Cheever said. "We are always on the look out for good drivers for our sports-car program. He has done three days in the Fabcar and did an excellent job."

Cheever suggested that a full-time Grand-Am schedule was only one possibility for Antinucci in 2008. Another is a graduation to the IndyCar Series should Cheever decide to return full-time to the championship after a season away. AutoWeek
