NASCAR loses another sponsor

Las Vegas Motor Speedway officials announced Monday the United Auto Workers will not return as title sponsor of the track's Sprint Cup race in 2009.

"We're very excited about seeking a partnership that will help us continue taking our NASCAR Sprint Cup event to new heights," LVMS General Manager Chris Powell said in a statement. "For quite some time, potential sponsors have expressed interest in this entitlement if it were to become available.

"Because of the popularity of our city and our facility – including new grandstands and the state-of-the-art Neon Garage that affords race fans unmatched access – we believe an event entitlement here at LVMS is the most valuable in all of NASCAR racing."
