Petty Enterprises announces new sponsor
Richard and Kyle Petty, along with PVA members Dianne Brunswick and Benjamin Garcia, were on hand at the Phoenix (Ariz.) International Raceway to make the announcement.
“It is going to be an honor to represent the Paralyzed Veterans of America because it is such an outstanding organization," said Kyle Petty, driver of the #45 PVA Dodge. “The work of the PVA is life-changing for those seriously injured heroes who have sacrificed so much for our freedom."
“The King" Richard Petty sees the PVA as a great way to give back to those who do so much for our way of life.
“From helping our vets get the benefits they deserve to promoting buildings that are wheelchair accessible, the PVA sets a great example of how we should treat our service men and women," said Petty. “People say that racecar drivers are heroes, but these guys are the real heroes."
The PVA chose to make the announcement at Phoenix because it is Veteran’s Day weekend. They feel that aligning themselves with an organization like Petty Enterprises would be a great way to honor the more than 19,000 men and women that comprise the membership of the PVA.
“On this Veterans Day weekend, I would like to express my thanks to Richard and Kyle Petty for doing something good for paralyzed veterans, not just one day a year but all year round. We really appreciate the fact that you guys care," said Paralyzed Veterans’ President Randy Pleva.
