Long and Murry team up for Synergy with Oil Heat America.com

Oil Heat America.com has joined Synergy Racing to sponsor the No. 80 Oil Heat America.com Porsche GT3 for round four of the Rolex Sports Car Series season at Virginia International Raceway. The team is also pleased to announce the driver line-up for the entry, as Patrick Long of Belleair, Fla., and David Murry of Cumming, Ga. will pair for the Bosh Engineering 250 at VIR on April 27.

Synergy Racing has high hopes for the new partnership and the Bosch 250 race outing, and figures to have a home-field advantage with the team’s headquarters located on the grounds at VIR.

“Synergy Racing is tremendously excited to not only have Oil Heat America.com as a partner for this race, but also to be fielding a car with such proven Porsche aces in it for our home event," said Synergy Racing team principal Cole Scrogham. “We have a lot of experience with both Pat and David, but they have never raced as teammates before so this is a really special opportunity, and we expect to have a competitive outing with these guys."

The new sponsorship is part of an extensive marketing program that will see the Oil Heat America.com branding on the Synergy Racing entry starting in Mexico City, as well as featuring an on-air presence during the Speed Channel broadcast of the VIR event.

“We are looking forward to our involvement with Synergy Racing," said Jack Woodfin, Virginia Board Member of the National Oil Heat Research Alliance. “This is a new way for us to get the word out about how safe, ecological, and reasonable oil heat is for homeowners across this country, and we couldn’t be more excited about the race weekend. Having our car with a line up like Pat and David as teammates is something we are really looking forward to seeing!"

For two such highly-regarded Porsche pilots, the race weekend marks the opportunity to achieve success not just on the marketing side of the program, but also on the track.

“I’m thrilled to be racing with Synergy again- I think it is a first-class organization and to be teamed up with Pat (Long) is something I’m really excited about," said Murry. “We’ve both got plenty of seat time at VIR and of course it’s Synergy’s home track so we feel like we should be a threat for the win there. It is a short race weekend with us just running on Saturday and Sunday, so hopefully that will play into our hands with all the experience this team has there as well as Pat and my ability to get the car set up quickly."
