Pit lane walk draws 25,000 fans
The Spanish F1 Grand Prix kicked off on Thursday with the traditional Pit Lane Walk when over 25,000 motor sports lovers came to the track to watch the teams get their vehicles ready for Friday’s free practice.
A plaque in honor of Nelson Piquet, three times F1 World Champion in 1981, 1983 and 1987, was presented at Champions’ Avenue, the former champion was represented by his son, Nelson Piquet Jr., who is currently racing for Renault.
The F1 free practice starts Friday at 10 am local time.
