Israel retracts Mosley invitation

(GMM) Beleaguered Max Mosley has been embarrassingly uninvited to Israel, as the sex scandal continues to hinder his ability to effectively operate as FIA president.

We reported earlier on Friday that, on the scene of the Jordan Rally, he had lined up a visit to Israel to discuss motor racing with the country's sports minister Galeb Majadle.

An official government statement, however, subsequently retracted the invitation, saying Majadle had not been aware of the lurid accusations when he met with Mosley in Jordan.

"Once the scandal was brought to the minister's attention, he has requested to withdraw immediately any official invitation to Mosley until the matter is reviewed more thoroughly once back in Israel," the statement read.
