‘Bridge’ wings get makeover in Montreal
(GMM) Formula one teams' newly revised 'bridge' wing features were on display in the Montreal pitlane on Thursday.
It emerged earlier this week that the FIA had requested those teams that are using variants of the aerodynamic devices to make the change for this weekend's Canadian grand prix, following suggestions that the wings illegally flex at speed.
In the pitlane on Thursday, it was clear that Toyota, Renault, Williams and the two Red Bull-designed cars had responded to FIA delegate Charlie Whiting's request by attaching the underneath of the bridge wing to the centre of the cars' nose.
McLaren's solution is slightly different, with the attachment looping from the top element of the bridge wing to the nose.
