Intersport Racing Doubles Down Acquiring Cytosport Lola

Hot off an impressive run in the Utah Grand Prix, Intersport Racing announced today they have purchased Team Cytosport's Lola B06/10 AER and will run it alongside its other ex-Dyson Lola. The team will campaign two cars in the American Le Mans Series starting at the Acura Sports Car Challenge at Mid-Ohio on July 17-19.

"First and foremost, we owe a big 'thank-you' to Greg Pickett and Jim Dunsford at Cytosport for their hard work putting this opportunity together," said team owner and driver Clint Field.

"Second," Clint continued, "being a two-car team will help boost our resources and make the whole team more competitive. Even better, the second car is a former Dyson Lola and nearly identical to our current car. We'll have more freedom in working on setups with the two cars and the additional input from the new drivers. Needless to say, this is an exciting time for Intersport Racing,"

This isn't the first time Intersport has run two cars in the Series. In 2004, the team fielded a Lola B160 Judd and a LMP2 Lola B2K/40 Judd. That year, Clint and co-driver Robin Liddell combined to win six races, finishing runner-up in the P2 drivers and teams' championship. The following season, Clint scored five class victories en route to the P2 class championship. More success may just be right around the corner for the ever-expanding team.

The team expects that driver announcements will be forthcoming following the 76th 24 Hours of Le Mans that runs from 9 a.m. ET (3 p.m. local time) Saturday, June 14 to 9 a.m. ET Sunday, June 15 from the Circuit de la Sarthe in Le Mans.
