Rahal Conference speaker, blood donor

Rahal Letterman Racing co-owner Bobby Rahal is scheduled to speak at the International Fuel Ethanol Workshop in Nashville, Tenn.

More than 4,000 attendees are expected this week at the 24th annual conference. A Rahal Letterman Racing display, featuring the No. 17 Ethanol car to be driven by Hunter-Reay this weekend at Iowa Speedway, is part of the convention.

Rahal was among the first-time donors last week as Rahal Letterman Racing hosted its first public American Red Cross Blood Drive.

"We are very cognizant of our role in the community and we make every effort to do whatever it takes to help those in need," Rahal said. "The Red Cross and the medical profession in general has a greater need for blood during the summer months and we were lucky enough to be able to help. I am especially proud of those members of our team that stepped up to help."

Donations will result in helping 117 individuals in Central Ohio and across the nation if circumstances warrant.
