Vallelunga Test Report – Day 2
The best times were set in the closing stages of the day when the weather was slightly cooler and all teams improved on yesterday’s times with the front runners, AC Milan (Robert Doornbos) and Borussia Dortmund (Davide Rigon) finding six tenths and eight tenths of a second respectively. Local team, AS Roma (Enrico Toccacelo) also improved by just under a second to put them in third place while Galatasaray (Alessandro Pier Guidi) found six tenths of a second.
However, it was not to be all plain sailing for the Anderlecht car this morning. A fuel line disconnected and the car was engulfed in flames. This has put paid to its test. The Glasgow Rangers car also took to the track for the first time today in the hands of Scottish star, Ryan Dalziel for two tentative laps at the end of the session. These were installation laps only and the car will be out in action tomorrow.
TODAY’S TIMES

8. Anderlecht – Nico Verdonck – Team Astromega – 1.26:034 – + 0.186 sec – 26 laps
9. Glasgow Rangers – Ryan Dalziel – Westec – no time – 2 laps
Ryan Dalziel managed 2 laps in the last 10 minutes of today's afternoon testing session, but he had to abandon his car on the track on his 3rd lap, causing the red flag to come out early.
Cars seem to be very competitive, the first 4 cars today all within 0.3 sec of each other. Team Astromega won't be out again tomorrow with their Anderlecht car, due to a terminal technical problem, not repairable at the scene.
