The day dawned bright, sunny and cool as the rains that hit Chicago the past few days finally moved out………The Indy Lights cars took to the track first and although there were almost no fans in the grandstands, Arie Luyendyk Jr. topped the opening practice. Championship contenders Raphael Matos and Richard Antinucci were 4th and 10th respectively. Both come of road racing backgrounds so it's not surprising to see them lead the championship and dominate the drivers who tried to come out

of, say USAC, which is oval track racing……….Ran into Floyd Ganassi (Chip's Father) with his arm in a sling. He told us he fell down in Detroit and broke his right shoulder. He's hoping the car holds together and Scott Dixon wins the title tomorrow. Dixon needs to finish 8th or better to clinch, regardless of what Castroneves does……..Oriol Servia is carrying CDW sponsorship

for this one race and Justin Wilson jokingly said to him "That drivers suit is too big for you isn't it?" CDW sponsored Wilson the past couple of years in Champ Car and the livery on Servia's CDW car is identical to what Wilson's Champ Car carried………We learned that Tagliani brought the two new sponsors to the Conquest team. They both have been with Tagliani for quite sometime. They hope it turns into a full-time ride in 2009. Mark C. reporting from Chicagoland
