Clauson prepares for Sprint Cup debut, announces sponsorship

Bryan Clauson will carry sponsorship from the MotorStorm Pacific Rift video game on his No. 40 Chip Ganassi Racing Dodge when he attempts to make his NASCAR Sprint Cup debut in this weekend’s Bank of America 500 at Lowe’s Motor Speedway.

Chip Ganassi Racing officials announced the sponsorship in a deal with Sony Computer Entertainment America and longtime team sponsor Target.

The 19-year-old Clauson has been competing part time in the NASCAR Nationwide Series this season. He has 23 starts in the series, with one pole, one top-five and two top-10 finishes. He is currently second in the rookie-of-the-year standings in that series.
