Scott Dixon Named in New Zealand Honors List

Scott Dixon, winner of this year’s Indianapolis 500 motor race, has been honored in a New Zealand awards list announced annually on New Year’s Eve. Dixon, 28, has been made a member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to motor sport, according to a statement from Government House in Wellington. Dixon, who also took this year’s IndyCar Series title, is from Auckland. He has raced for Target Chip Ganassi Racing Team Inc. since 2003, when he won the series title for the first time.
