Joe Nemechek is gearing up for the 2009 NASCAR season.

The driver and owner of NEMCO Motorsports said that he is planning to run the full Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series schedule, beginning with next month's season openers at Daytona International Speedway — the Daytona 500 and Camping World 300.

Nemechek will drive the No. 87 Toyota Camry in the Cup Series and the No. 87 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS in the Nationwide races.

"We are confident about acquiring sponsorship for 12 Cup races," said Nemechek. "We're working to secure sponsorship for the remaining 24 events and also for a number of Nationwide races. We have an excellent opportunity for a company interested in pursing a cost-effective motorsports sponsorship. Anyone interested can e-mail us at sponsorship@joenemechek.com. We want to race and put people back to work in these tough economic times."

Veteran crew chief Philippe Lopez has joined NEMCO Motorsports and will oversee the competition side in both series.

"We have a lot of exciting things happening at NEMCO," added Nemechek. "Having Philippe join us is a huge plus for our program. We were also able to acquire excellent equipment and are in position to run an economic yet competitive program."

Nemechek has two wins at Daytona International Speedway in the Nationwide Series — February 1998 and July 2002. His career Nationwide record includes 274 starts, 16 wins, 73 top fives, 121 top 10s and 18 poles. He won the Nationwide Series season championship in 1992. Nemechek's Nationwide career has mainly run under the NEMCO motorsports banner.

In Sprint Cup competition, Nemechek's career record includes 4 wins, 18 top fives, 62 top 10s and 10 poles.
