Harvick against two races per track

Richard Childress Racing's Kevin Harvick is not in favor of NASCAR returning a second race date to historic Darlington Raceway – nor, for that matter, seeing a second race at other tracks.

While the driver of the No. 29 Chevrolet says he enjoys racing at the 1.366-mile track and is looking forward to running in the Southern 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race on May 9, he says that a second Darlington date would be a mistake. Harvick would rather see a schedule in which the Cup series visits each track only once during the season.

"There's a lot of different markets that we can go to, and that would make the sport even stronger than it already is," Harvick said.

"Darlington has done a great job of selling this race out, and the fans really enjoy it. I think a second race would hurt a track like Las Vegas. It's hard to take a step back and undo something that's already been done."
