St. Clair Foods two-race sponsorship withdrawn
A two-race sponsorship deal intended for David Green’s race team and St. Clair Foods was withdrawn today. St. Clair withdrew from the agreement because of the inability to reach an exclusive sponsorship agreement with SK Motorsports for the Nationwide Series Scotts Turf Builder 300 at Bristol Motor Speedway this weekend and a Nationwide Series race scheduled for later this year in Memphis.
“I regret that the two parties could not reach an agreement," said David Goodman of Mountain Empire Sports Marketing Group, who was involved in brokering the agreement. “A failure to finalize exclusivity rights for St. Clair Foods by my company was central to the failed agreement."
“Our understanding was that the deal had been finalized and I was surprised that issues remained so close to the race at Bristol," said St. Clair Foods, Vice-President of Operations Brian Edmonds. “Our intent was to go racing, however with a significant detail involving the sponsorship unresolved, we had no choice but to withdraw from the opportunity."
