Dover rewards McGlynn for selling less tickets
Dover Motorsports Chief Executive Officer Denis McGlynn earned 16 percent more in 2008 than he did in 2007 after seeing a drop in compensation of 3 percent in the previous year, according to the company’s proxy statement filed Monday. This despite lower ticket sales at Dover in 2008, at least for the NASCAR end of the business. Perhaps horse racing did well.
McGlynn’s total compensation in 2008 was $464,504, compared with $400,203 in 2007 and $414,313 in 2006, according to the company proxy statement filed Monday with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. McGlynn also is compensated by the gaming arm of the company.
