Sarah Fisher teams up with Forsythe team
Sarah Fisher Racing's deadline passed last week for fielding a second Indianapolis 500 car, but the team still could have help at Indianapolis Motor Speedway next month. SFR has partnered with Forsythe Racing, a former Champ Car team mulling an IndyCar entry.
"If they had a car, it'd be huge because we'd have an unofficial teammate," Fisher says.
The alliance already is working for Fisher's No. 67 Dallara-Honda, which will make its season debut Sunday at Kansas Speedway. SFR hired chief engineer Tom Brown from Forsythe, which also is providing engineering help and its shop for pit-stop practice.
Fisher feels much more prepared than a year ago when the IRL's three-time most popular driver lost a primary sponsor before the start-up team's Indy debut. Dollar General returns for a six-race schedule after two races last year.
"I can sleep now; it's amazing," she says. USA Today
