Sharp slams Indy wall

At 2:30 p.m. ET this afternoon Scott Sharp crashed his No. 16 Panther Racing entry in Turn 2. Coming out of Turn 1, Sharp lost the back end of his car spun out (just like he did in Turn 1 on the very first lap of the Indy 500 when he sat on the pole – how embarrassing?) low on the short chute and the car then went back up the track and hit the SAFER Barrier hard, resulting in heavy right-side damage to his Dallara Honda.

Sharp jumped out of the car almost immediately and into the safety vehicle for the ride to the infield care center.
