Indy 500 Bump Day Notebook – 2
As of 2:30 pm, only one car has been bumped out — the 43 car of John Andretti. The 21T car of Hunter-Reay is on the bubble right now at 219.502. Given the speeds being posted today, anything under a 221.5 should not be considered safe.
Two cars withdrew and requalified. The first was Nelson Philippe, who posted a 220.754, some 2.7 mph faster than yesterday's time.
Then, the crowd was electrified as Milka Duno went out and posted a 221.106, over 3 mph faster than yesterday. When AR1 asked her about yesterday's run, she playfully replied, "Don't talk about war… only about good things!" She continued, "We have a more solid car today, because yesterday the wing so much of the car. And when we put the car with less aerodynamics, the wind was affecting so much, is why I just lost the front… WAHHHHAAAAA!!!! …in turn 1, oh my goodness! But today was more solid car."
