NASCAR keeps four cars after Nationwide race

NASCAR held four Nationwide Series cars after the Carquest Auto Parts 300 on Saturday night in an effort to keep aerodynamic improvements in check.

Nationwide Series Director Joe Balash said Sunday that NASCAR wanted to make sure the teams stay within the box that the sanctioning body wants them in.

One car from each manufacturer was rechecked: Jeff Burton’s Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet, Paul Menard’s Yates Racing Ford, Brian Vickers’ Braun Racing Toyota and Justin Allgaier’s Penske Racing Dodge.

The cars all passed inspection, so there were no issues with any of the bodies.

“We don’t want to lose track of where these cars are even though we’re working on the next one," Balash said. “We always have to keep doing our due diligence on the current trends in the garage."
