Dixon takes over IndyCar point lead

Target Chip Ganassi Racing’s Scott Dixon recorded the team’s 67th open wheel win Sunday at The Milwaukee Mile, giving the defending IndyCar Series champion the point lead heading into next weekend’s race in Texas where he is also the defending race winner. Teammate Dario Franchitti gave the Target team a double podium finish with his third place result in the No.10 TomTom car.

After finishing second in last year’s event to Ryan Briscoe, Dixon turned the tables on his Team Penske rival with a three-wide pass for the lead on lap 201 of the 225-lap event. With the win, Dixon became the first driver to go to victory lane for the second time in 2009.
