Alonso urges Renault to improve 2009 car
(GMM) Fernando Alonso on Sunday pushed Renault to make urgent changes to the R29 formula one car.
With the Enstone built contender in Turkey, the Spaniard finished tenth, while his teammate Nelson Piquet was sixteenth at the checkered flag.
Renault went into the Istanbul event talking about a new front wing, but former double world champion Alonso insisted the technical improvements have not been enough.
"This is the same car that we had in Bahrain, and so without improving it significantly, it is normal that in every race we are worse," he is quoted as telling Spain's Diario AS.
"Any changes at all are welcome," added Alonso, who said the results of Sunday's race prove that Renault is now the seventh best team in F1.
